RENDERING
German Bahamon - Architect
The competition was seeking for innovation ideas to improve the urban, enviorement, social and economic conditions of the area, designing an ocupation model that guarantee development and improvement to the area as a model for the city.
This project was selected into the best 10 ideas to consider as the right way to improve the city, we recognized the important commercial and historic impact that the area apport from the city to the country and recognizing the deterioration of the area we used as the most potential tool to "swipe" or "switch" the bad things into the most value ones. Transforming the most dangerous and scary area of Bogota into the principal model proposing to balance the full and empty spaces between the nature and the people by re-connecting the commercial and culture with three principal things.
A. Unification & Urban connection.
B. Morphology & building typology.
C. Urban landscaping.

Each one of this axis have different guidelines called strategies in multiple scales looking to resolve problems from the buttom by boundaring strategis, street hierarchy, metropolitan character, blocks, bulding typologhy, the street and natural balance, to connect all the present and future plans from the area to the city.

EXISTING AIR PICTURE
Provided by SCA
What you can see on the picture is a messy city, with lot of poverty around and of course insecurity, also, couple historic important buildings and one big square with a little bit of green called "Plaza del voto Nacional", place where people used to go to vote for political elections.
