FIRST SCOPE

My first idea for this opportunity was to look for something different, I started thinking about different mailrooms that I meet before, and all of them are so bored, so that was the first issue founded, wanted to do something different. How I start was sketching the space that I had.

That was the architecture space that the constructor bring to us, so I catch a very long hall with cero interest on it, I mean just the mailboxes on bottom and some indeed boxes on top the mailboxes, (something that I was thinking to use for the difference) and in the middle some lighting fixtures with the obligation to keep them.

CONCEPT IDEA

The first thing that I was thinking was on context, thinking about this project to be development in Orlando, FL. Thinking about all the rolling coasters that goes up and down in wave styles, also though about mickey mouse but did not want to be so literally with the Orlando meaning I catch the waves styles, in the other hand I was thinking on the function as mailroom, that's why I though about envelopes to use them on the indeed boxes on top of the mailboxes.

One of the things is that the maillroom hall was too long, so I consider thinking in something kind of a museum, where you not only will go for your mailbox, pick your pack and go home, I wanted people do what they need to do but also enjoying walking this long  hall as a museum.

DRAWINGS

Two waves, one in front of the other and in opposite lines will bring an interest effect, more if you know that you have a very long hall. drawing this was used by a pattern with three different sized for envelopes, as the same with three different colors.

INSTALL

The instalation for this project took me around 30 hours, the first idea was to use hook into the drywall but when I just arrived to the place I found that the wall was not drywall or sheetrock, was full concrete, that complicate all because I went to home depot trying to find some tool to install over concrete, I remember all the hooks in two home depots of Orlando I bought it. but at the end averyting worth it.

COMPLETE

After install around of 530 envelopes side to side with some yarn, we decide to protect them with some glass in front with some gap for ventilation and hoping to keep them for a long time in this innovate and different mailroom.
